Off to new worlds.

20 09 2009

This is it, my new website is finally up, and it’s time for me to say goodbye to this blog for now.

Of course I want to thank everyone for reading this blog, and I hope you’re willing to continue on madizor.com.

I have lots of plans for this site. I’m gonna have my blog there, where I will focus alot more on graphic design, photography, webdesign, japan, photoshop, etc etc. I wont write about myself as much as I used to, if I’d do that, I’d have a separate blog for that, focusing on me and nothing else. But I’m not that motivated right now.

Instead, I’m creating 2 other sites – my portfolio and also a Swedish site with blogdesigns for Blogg.se. My goal is to make an English version too, and also sell WordPress and Blogger designs. But it’ll take a while before I get there.

Till then, I hope you all will follow me through the progress. I wont remove this blog, I treasure it too much. And who knows, you might find some goodies around here.

See you on madiZor.com! ~ madi.

Off to France

3 09 2009

That’s right, I’m going on a short weekend trip to France today, and I’ll be back one Sunday. By then, I will also start working on my new site (where this blog will be integrated).

Till then!

Another visit to Botaniska

19 08 2009

As I said in the previous post (I think) I was going to the Botanic Garden today with my class. The task was to take pictures of whatever you want (obviously flowers unless someone really thought outside the box) and then write a poem about it in Swedish and also English. But that’s what we’re gonna continue with tomorrow

I can’t say that I came up with outstanding, crazy new ideas of how to take interesting flower pics, but this was at least a chance for me to try the various lenses a bit etc.

Enjoy!

5 Firefox Add-Ons That’ll Make Internet Surfing A Funnier Experience

18 08 2009

As the subject says, I just thought that it would be fun to list some of my favorite Firefox add-ons. They’re kinda mixed, and handpicked.

For me it’s not really easy to find good add-ons that I might find useful. I want them to be powerful, handy, but also stylish and minimalistic if possible. That is why I’ve picked these out.

SmoothWheel
One of my favorite add-ons that I recently installed is SmoothWheel, and boy do I love it! It’s such a tiny thing that I love so much. What does it do? It scrolls up and down on those terribly long pages very smoothly, some of you have probably seen that on macs. So this is mostly for us PC users who doesn’t just want to surf the internet, but to cruise as well.

Fission
For those who liked the first add-on, you’ll probably like this one too. It also has this Mac/Safari feel about it, and what it does is that the progressbar is combined with the adressbar, very stylish imo.

Multiple Tab Handler
This one is quite handy, but maybe a bit hard to use. With this you can select multiple tabs and choose various actions, such as close them, or bookmark them etc. In the beginning it can get a bit frustrating, since you might move around the tabs instead of selecting them. But it’s still a good add-on!

Smart Stop/Reload
Simple, easy, should be built in. This add-on merges the stop and reload button into one. Saves space and is alot better than having two separate buttons.

Update Notifier
If you wanna keep an eye on your themes and add-ons, and always want to know when there are new updates available, this could be your best friend. The Update Notifier is placed very discreetly in the top left corner, where you can search for new updates, restart Firefox, open the add-ons window etc.

Feel free to tell me what you think about the add-ons if you ever decide to try them out. Enjoy!

Short update

18 08 2009

Well, I’ve had writer’s block for a while, and it feels like it wont go away.

The reason I’m trying to write something is that I got some complaints about being inactive (…) and that I’ve been home all day without having anything to do. The firstgraders start today, and they need at least two days to get used to their new surroundings. It is quite cute, I must say. So today I’ve been at home, doing nothing really. And tomorrow we’re going to Botaniska again to get some nice photos.

Even if it took me hours to write this short update, I managed to come up with a few ideas of what to write next, maybe some useful stuff for you.

Till then! ~ madi

Even if the summer aint over yet…

11 08 2009

Back to school, back to reality or whatever. I have to admit that this summer has been wonderful, and although it’s not over yet it’s quite depressing to get up early in the morning again. Yesterday nnilley went home, and that’s – without doubt – tough. He and Anton has been staying at my place for about 2 weeks, although Anton went home earlier. Overall, it was hilarious most of the time.

Other than that, I kinda put all my projects on-hold, the server I created for my new website didn’t turn out as I expected, due to bad internet-connections etc. But I wont give up! I’m gonna give it another try as soon as… as soon as I can, of course.

On top of that, I’ll give you three pictures from when I was out in the nice weather with Tess and my man. It seems that the quality decreased significantly, maybe because I uploaded all of them at the same time. But other than that, I hope you enjoy the pics!

Sigma 50mm 1:2.8 DG Macro

24 07 2009

Yesterday I came home with my new macrolens, and so far I love it! At first I was going to buy a 90mm, but in the last minute I changed my mind and bought this one instead. I don’t know if I made the right choice, but I can’t complain about this lens really.

After taking some sample pics (from mom’s balcony, as usual) I got this one that has a pretty nice feeling about it.

How I managed to get such a white background I’m not sure of, but it’s nothing but the sky. It had been raining, and raindrops is something that I always like to take pictures of. Flowers on the other hand starts to get a bit boring, although they always look good on picture. On the other hand, they’re good at testing new effects and methods on.

But today, I got this idea of taking pictures through glass. Using a more “exclusive”/”abstract” whiskey glass (what the hell should I call it?) I put lot’s of colorful jewelery, beads and stones in it and tried it out. The result turned out something like this:

It looks a bit cool I guess, gives a nice water effect. But I dunno what to use it for. Textures? Maybe.

Hope you liked the pictures! ~ madi
